Now a dominant force on the international stage, Olympique Lyon has won 14 consecutive French league titles and four straight UEFA Women's Champions League titles. It wasn't always this way, however. The road to dominance started well before Lyon's loss in their first UWCL final in 2010. We look back at the beginning of Lyon's journey to dominance.
Olympique Lyon won its fourth consecutive and sixth overall UEFA Women's Champions League title after defeating FC Barcelona, 4–1, in Budapest on May 18, 2019. Ada Hegerberg scored a hat trick in the opening 30 minutes of the match after Dzsenifer Marozsán opened the scoring in the 5th minute. Barcelona, making its first appearance in an UWCL final and the first Spanish team to reach the final, scored in the 89th minute off a goal from Asisat Oshoala.
