VfL Wolfsburg was catching the attention in German women’s soccer with two recent signings. Joining the club will be Conny Pohlers of 1.FFC Frankfurt. Pohlers, a former Atlanta Beat player in the WUSA, finished the season as the top striker with 25 goals. She recently verbally attacked German National Team coach Silvia Neid for not being named to the World Cup roster.
Wolfsburg signed top talent Nadine Kessler of champion Turbine Potsdam. The 22-year-old has two caps for the German National Team. Also joining Wolfsburg will be Laura Vetterlein from relegated 1.FC Saarbrücken. Laura is the sister of VfL goalie Alisa Vetterlein.
