The Westfield W-League begins its 10th season on Thursday, October 26. The league’s regular season runs from late October through February, with the each team playing through 14 regular-season rounds. The regular-season winner earns the Premiers title. The top four teams advance to the knockout rounds — playoffs for us Yanks — with the top two teams meeting in the wonderfully named Grand Final and the winner crowned Champion.
The W-League’s five-month season corresponds to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) offseason and several players have been making their way to Australia after their NWSL seasons end for several years.
Last season, ESPN3 streamed a weekly game in the United States. No word on official broadcasts for U.S.-based fans as of yet.
Updated: For international supporters, matches are available via the Oz platform. There is a per-game fee, monthly pass, or 30-day trial option available.
