The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) has announced the players from the Canadian Women’s National Team who will be allocated to the league for the 2016 season. The Canadian Soccer Association has allocated 11 players for the season, including six new players.

New Faces

The six new allocated players include Janine Beckie, Josée Belanger, Sabrina D’Angelo, Stephanie Labbé, Desiree Scott and Shelina Zadorsky. Scott makes her return to the NWSL after playing for Notts County in the FA Women’s Super league for the past two seasons. Beckie is the lone player from the college ranks (Texas Tech) and will suit up for the Houston Dash.

Players allocated in 2015 who have not been allocated for the 2016 season include Nkem Ezurike, Karina LeBlanc (retired), Rhian Wilkinson, Melissa Tancredi, Rachel Quon, Erin McLeod, Lauren Sesselmann, and Jonelle Filigno.

The list of U.S. allocations was released in January and included four new allocations.
