Runners up 1.FFC Frankfurt announced the re-signing of Gina Lewandowski for the upcoming season. Lewandowski currently is with the Western New York Flash in Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) and will re-join the German team for the 2011/12 season once the WPS season has concluded. SC Bad Neuenahr announced its new coach, 49-year-old England native Colin Bell. He spent seven years of his active career in Germany and has stayed their since. He has been coaching men’s teams, and is new in women’s soccer. His contract is for two seasons.
Hamburger SV has added 19-year-old center midfielder Marie Louise Bagehorn of Turbine Potsdam for the upcoming season. Champions Turbine Potsdam signed a new playmaker as a reaction to losing a few of its players. From 2. Bundesliga club 1.FC Köln, Potsdam signed 25-year-old Patricia Hanebeck. The attacking midfielder belonged to the biggest talents in German soccer with FCR Duisburg. Hanebeck went on to Hamburg and Cologne, where she played the last two years.
