The Boston Breakers are holding a clinic on Friday, April 15th to help raise funds for the earthquake relief efforts in Japan. Two Breakers – Taryn Hemmings and Claire Zimmeck – trained with the Japanese club TEPCO Mareeze just two weeks before the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and tsunami struck Northern Japan.
Organized by Boston Breakers players, the Kicks for Japan Clinic will feature technical skills stations with coaching by the Boston Breakers players and staff. Registration is open until Wednesday, April 13th. Also, on Sunday, April 17th, at Boston’s home opener against the Western New York Flash, volunteers will be collecting donations for the Breakers Aid for Japan campaign. More info about the clinic: On Friday, April 15th, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Breakers will put on the Kicks for Japan Clinic at Cumnock Fields (behind the field hockey stadium) on the campus of Harvard University. Boys and girls ages 5-16 can take part in the Kicks for Japan Clinic for a minimum $40 donation. All of the proceeds will go to the relief efforts in Japan.
