Mitch Silverman, Asst. AD (Facilities Management, Operations and Events) at Florida Atlantic University, said Wednesday night that magicTalk SC will play all of its home games on the Florida Atlantic University campus in Boca Raton, Florida.
The team will play at FAU Soccer Stadium on the varsity soccer complex, and Silverman said the plan is to bring in more seating to accommodate more fans. The additional seating will bring maximum capacity up to anywhere between 1,200 and 1,500, Silverman said. He said he spoke with magicTalk SC General Manager Briana Scurry earlier today to confirm that the team will play at FAU.
“All home games will be here,” Silverman said. “They’re relocating their whole operations here.”
The WPS regular season roster is scheduled to be announced by the end of this week. Each team will play an 18-game schedule, running from April through August.
“I think it’s going to be great for our community, specifically for women’s soccer in general,” Silverman said about having magicTalk SC play on the FAU campus. “This is a hotbed for soccer and for youth soccer. And, it’s 75 degrees here every day.”
Silverman said magicTalk SC will not train during the preseason at FAU. He said the team will train in Palm Beach.
