Teclaire Bille Esono, a starting defender on the Equatorial Guinea Women’s National Team, died Tuesday night in a car accident in Cameroon. Esono was among three people who were killed in the crash. One of them was her brother. Esono started five games for Equatorial Guinea at the African Women’s Football Championship/World Cup qualifiers in October-November 2010. National Football Federation Spokesman David Monsuy confirmed the news of Esono’s death to the international news agency AFP.
