Monica Jorge, the head coach of the Portugal Women’s National Team, talked about having players of Portuguese descent who live in the U.S. and Canada in her program. One of those players is Kimberly Brandão, who played last year for the Buffalo Flash of the W-League. “They bring more professionalism, more competitiveness to our group,” Jorge said. “Some players come and play in a league far superior to ours, and that brings more value to our competitive pace. Kimberly Brandão (is) fantastic! (She) is a highly respected player in the group and the technical staff. The girls love (her), and it is a great reference for the youth playing football in Portugal.”
