Goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart re-signed with FC Kansas City for the 2016 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season.
Barnhart has been the first-choice keeper for the back-to-back league champions since the club’s inaugural season. In 2013, Barnhart was named NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year.
The former U.S. Women’s National Team member won gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2012 London Olympics.
“Barnie [Barnhart] has been one of the corner stones of our team for the past three years and we are, of course, thrilled to have her back for another season.” Director of Soccer Operations and GM Huw Williams said.
Barnhart played for Stanford in college holds the school’s record for lowest career goals against average at 0.41.
